Our Trip to England

Our graduation trip to Canterbury, England, started on Sunday, 25th August. After a long journey by bus and on the ferry we arrived in Canterbury in the early evening, where we were welcomed with typically English weather. Canterbury is an old city with a historical cathedral located in the south east of England. We lived on the campus of a university. There we had our own house together with four other students, which meant that we had to buy our own food and had to cook our own food.

We visited a lot of beautiful places in England, like the White Cliffs of Dover, from where we had an amazing view all over the coast. Leads Castle is also worth seeing, it is encased by a beautiful park with some lakes.

On Wednesday we made a day trip to London. At first we visited famous sights, like Big Ben, the Tower Bridge, Buckingham Palace and so on. In the afternoon we had the chance to spend time in small groups, most of us went shopping or visited museums. In the evening we had to go back to the bus. And we made a sightseeing tour by night. It was amazing to see everything illuminated in the dark.

Thursday, our last day, was our first sunny day since our arrival in England. We enjoyed the nice weather and spent the afternoon at the beach. Some of us ran into the ocean, but they came back very fast, because the water was not as warm as they thought.

We spent our last evening with our classmates, as we did it the days before. We felt a little bit sorry that the time had passed so quickly. But one thing is sure, no one of us will forget those wunderful days in England.
